2022 Photo Organizing Challenge

Happy New Year.

The new year represents fresh beginnings and new goals so let's harvest this energy. Join the 2022 Print Photo Organizing Challenge.

Preparation is key to success. It's true if you fail to plan, you can plan to fail. Grab a notebook and write down your plan. Did you know if you write it down you are 42% more likely to reach your goals when you write them down. Here are 5 keys to preparing.

  1. Know your why. Write down why you want to organize your photos. Do you want to downsize or do you want to ensure your photos are digitized and safe if there is a natural disaster?

  2. Define your end goal. Is your end goal to make photo books or to be able to share photos with family members when you are done organizing?

  3. Find an accountability partner. Enlist a friend or family member to help you keep your goals or possibly assist you with your project.

  4. Schedule time to complete the challenge. Set realistic goals that will be easy for you to keep. It is fine if you only have 15 minutes a day to work on your photos.

  5. Get your tools together. You will need the following tools: photo boxes or small containers for sorting, index cards, gloves for handling the photos, photo cleaning cloths, photo safe pen (or Stabilo pencil), document repair tape (Michaels Stores), garbage bags, photo removal tools for removing photos from the old "magnetic" albums and a scanne

You are now ready to start your challenge.

I've included 2 checklists for you to print off. One is a gathering checklist and the other is a checklist of photos to throw away.

Good luck with your print photo organizing challenge. You got this!
